…and Hannah loves it!
Isn’t it wonderful?! It turned out beautifully, considering the trials and tribulations I had with my machines during the making of this quilt, which I won’t bore you with. We’ve all had them at one time or another! Mine just happened to pick this moment, this quilt. It couldn’t happen when I was making a “just for the heck of it” quilt. Nooooo. Only when I’ve got a deadline.
The quilt itself was a blast to make. Suffice it to say I had my insurance company on speed dial so that I could file a claim in the event my Voyager “mysteriously” flew through the upstairs window onto the lawn while it was being quilted. I compare quilt-making to having a baby. No matter how much I screamed and cursed at my machine, or that my eyes went buggy from that zebra-striped fabric, or that I went to 5 different stores in two states looking for (and never finding!) more zebra-striped fabric for the backing, it is all instantly forgotten just by looking at the smile on her face. There is nothing, nothing as warm and fuzzy as the happy face this picture.
That smile, right there, is the reason I make quilts.
