This week, while I contemplated borders for this quilt and this quilt, I stumbled across a tutorial for something touted as a 10-minute block. I’d never heard of it before! A layer cake, 3 seams, and a block that finishes at 18 inches?
I walked myself through the instructions and successfully completed one block. It was super easy.
I cued up some Battlestar Galactica on Netflix and chain pieced that whole layer cake. How could I go wrong? I figured these blocks go together so fast and easy, I could have an entire quilt top finished in one evening!
I am SUCH a doorknob. I sewed every single one of the brown centers in backwards. Sigh.
I blame it on the Cylons.
